Azzurro
12 minute piece for 3 dancers
Share
Azurro is named after the light blue color of the sky in the Italian language, and is a dance piece that reflects the brightness, romanticism, and elegance of the forms and patterns heard in the dance’s Baroque soundscape. Choreographer Mario Bermudez Gil echoes Vivaldi’s kinetic rhythms, fluid melodies, and bright instrumental effects in a contemporary way to bring a new relevance to the beauty of the past.
