Gaga people / Gaga Dancers

Gaga is a movement language which Ohad Naharin developed over the course of many years and which is applied in daily practice and exercises by the Batsheva Dance Company members. The language of Gaga originated from the belief in the healing, dynamic, ever-changing power of movement.

Marcat Dance Movement Research

Marcat movement research involves deep grounding of our body, and from its base, finding the qualities of elasticity along with strength and letting go to achieve a continuous flow of energy between internal and external expansion. The class is a physical and mental exercise that includes both floor work and short excerpts from Choreographer Mario Bermudez. Participants are stimulated by changes in movement quality, dynamic texture and musicality. Through physical play, participants will work to follow their own inner impulses, listening as individuals and as a group, build confidence, and become aware of the endless qualities within themselves.

Ilan Lev

The Ilan Lev method works towards improving human capabilities and removing functional difficulties. In the session the patient’s body is gently moved, creating a rich and thoughtful dialogue between the practitioner and the patient. Movement returns to parts of the body where communication was cut-off and dialogue within the whole system is restored.
