Quatour pour la fin du temps

Commission by and for Nuovo Balletto di Toscano

Quatuor Pour la Fin du Temp is inspired by the original musical composition by composer Olivier Messiaen, who wrote and premiered the work while a prisoner of war captivity in Gorlitz, Germany.

Choreographer Mario Bermudez Gil will draw parallel and inspiration from the original structure and inspiration of Messiaen, which is that each of the compositions’ eight movements connect to a specific text from the Book of Revelation.

The creative voice and movement language of Bermudez Gil is recognized for its rich physicality and dynamics and will be researched with the eight dancers of Nuovo Balletto di Toscana. The interpretation of this work fortifies and inspirits Messiaen’s unique and powerful work.
